Dear Mother

Dear Mother

Dear mother, source of love and light so true,
With care unmeasured, selfless in thy ways,
Thy sacrifice I ever hold in view,
Who thought of me through all my fleeting days.
Unwearied thou, to give the best to me,
And for my sake didst thou thyself deny,
From every harm thou sought to keep me free,
With watchful eye lest sorrow should come nigh.
If I were hurt, thou ever healed the pain,
My guardian angel, kind and selfless heart,
Though time has flown, thy goodness doth remain,
A guiding light from which I ne'er depart.
One hundred ten years, dear, thy love I prize,
Though far away, my love doth reach the skies.
